Don't know why not just start your load development low and work up.

Mag primers are recommended by some..and Im sure it won't hurt with any ball powder or so they say, but I use a lot of H380 lately as it got available for a few days at our stores...Ive used both std and mag primers and no difference in velocity on my chronographs an in the accuracy of the rifles I used it in...Same for Ball c2. btw. the only difference I noticed is BallC2 got me a bit more velocity than H380 and H380 shined in my 25-35 win by a bunch..I suspect it will do the same in my 30-30s, but have not tried it there.

I'm confused.

I thought the subject title "Magnum Primers in 380" was a reference to a .380 ACP (9mm Kurz) not the powder H-380. I figured the OP had run out of Small Pistol primers and was asking about substituting Small Pistol Magnum primers for them.

Clarification anyone?

Who knows, what "380".

Can be .380 Howell rifle cartridge, also some British revolver rounds are .380 as well.

But 9x17mm Browning is the most probable.

If you're talking about 380ACP then I will say you will want to reduce your load to at least the minimum and work your way up. I've never tried them in 380ACP but I have in 9mm. I worked from the lower end and found that my loads had higher velocity than what book listed. Several things could be the reason so I won't state it was for sure the primers being the solely responsible.

Or maybe he's talking about doing a "180" plus just a little more than another half-twist of 200 degrees, ending up twenty degrees past where he started his circle. That would be a "380", right?
