p dog shooterPersonally I like free brass as the best.
Lots of others really perfer certain brands.
I would talk with 338 owners that don't reload and see if one can score a few boxs of once fired.

LWDFor non-premium I go Winchester. I got a couple of bad batches of Remington a few years ago, so it's Winchester for me. For premium, it will vary from caliber to caliber.

LWDAnd for a hunting rifle, don't buy the expensive stuff. You don't want to be crawling around in the grass looking for your spent brass when you should be shooting or watching the animal.

kjjm4I use either Winchester or Remington. I've had zero problems with either.

wasbeemanRemington has worked well for me. Buy 100 cases (of the brand of your choice), take care of it, and it'll probably outlast you.
I agree that you don't need the high priced spread for a hunting rifle.

+1 Usually Win brass for me. I've also used Nosler in 338 Win and so far I like it but haven't shot it out yet. So won't say it's the bomb unless it lasts a good number of loadings.

Antelope SniperConcho,I also shoot Winchester brass in my .338 Win Mag. It lasts just fine so long as I don't load them too hot...

Bear in FairbanksI use Win. brass for all of my rifle reloading including my .338 WM. For the most part, I always try to PFLR the cases. In fact, I have 2 sizing dies for each caliber. 1 is set to PFLR the second is set to FL resize when/if needed. With 2 dies, I don't have the bother of readjusting the dies to go to FL sizing to PFL sizing. Just me tho.
