It is a 375-06 improved. Did you Google it or search AR? Plenty of information on it. Good round.

Basically a blown out 375-06/375 Whelen...case volume ~80 gr...slightly bigger brother to the 375 JDJ. EZ to do for '06 size receivers, just chamber a .375 barrel or have a fat 30-06 barrel re-bored. ~2600 fs with a 250 gr bullet.

Barnes #3 has data and many online reloading sites...BIG dust up over which is "better" the 338-06, 35 Whelen and other 375-06 iterations...reality speaking, "better-ness" only in the minds of which are favorite, and you can get heavier bullets in the larger dia. calibers... Several articles printed on various gun rags, go online to search.

They all kill very well...I can't tell any difference between them.

400 Hawk another good choice.

I have a mauser in the caliber. The original load data loads are at 48,000 PSI, loaded to max, it will really perform. But, to get the most out of it, a boltgun and the throat lengthened helps.

Another option is to go with 9.3x62 and you can get factory ammo and brass, although I never dissuade anyone from anything..

The Win 1895 would be just a barrel or a re-chamber/re-bore....easy peasy...and handle the higher pressures of the 375 Hawk/Skovill(~80 gr H2O)...you can also use Redding bushing type "S" 30'06 dies for reloading...

My 9.5 x 62 mm, AKA 375 x 62 mm, AKA 375 JDJ(Hawks little brudda at ~68 gr H2O) does ~2600 fs with a 260 gr Nos Part and 26" bbl and almost 2750 with the 235 Sp SS...with several powders...2450 with 300 gr SP an RN's.

These velos make my 20" 375 H&H sweat and come close to my 24" 375 Ruger.

I think it is an excellent cartridge and game killer!!!!
