Minimum Seating Depth
I have a Ruger 77 in 7x57. Since the mag box handles regular LA rounds, I can load the bullets out quite far.

What is generally the minimum seating depth of a projectile.

I have heard 90% of caliber to stablize the bullet. So therefore it would be .256?

Just dont stick it out so it jams the lands when you chamber your rounds. You will have some great pressures at that point.

I have always seated bullets at least their diameter in the case and go from there (+/-).

I think you could get away with your 90% of caliber. I generally seat at least one caliber, or .284" for the 7mm, but your proposed .256" would hold the bullet OK.
