338-06 vs 338-06 a-square and making reloading dies
First did a-square make any changes to the case when the sent it to saami. I was all set to go ahead with this project then I read that a-square had made changes to 416 taylor before they sent it to saami. I was told both yes and no on the 338-06. The reason I ask is I have access to and older reamer and want to know if the old reamer will match todays factory ammo.

Also has anybody made there own reloading dies? How hard was it? To me it seems like the bullet seating die would be the tough one. If anybody has done it would you provide a brief walk through to see if it is a project I want to undertake.

thanks

For your die blanks, try Newlon Precision. Not cheap, but damn good blanks

I had my barrel made up by Shaw before A-Sq did their thing and I have no trouble loading using Redding dies. Dies are cheap in fact Lee will make custom dies for $50 all you have to do is send them the fired cases. Good luck with whatever you do.

I also had my 338-06 made before A-square. I have been using Redding dies w/ great success.
