I need some opinions on a good, accurate varmint bullet in .22 caliber. I am looking for a heavier bullet, 60 to 65 grains, for long range shots. My guns has the standard Remington twist(1 in 14 I believe). What are some good choices of bullets that my gun could stabilize??
I see that Sierra makes a pile of different bullets but am not sure which ones would work in my 700.

Try the 65 gr bullets, they just might work, although you are right on the edge, twist wise. My Savage 22-250 14 twist gun shoots 55 gr bullets fine. Try the Sierra BlitzKing bullets. The faster speed should make up for the heavier bullet's advantage.

1x14 twist, that's the same as my Winchester 70 HBV in 22-250. Mine likes 52 grain Sierra HPBT, shoots them in .4s and gone all the way to .2, I can shoot the Winchester 64 gr PP and can get .75s with them and less than moa all day. It's weird because I tried the 62 gr fmjbt - military bullet and sometimes could get .75 moa 3 shot group with them, but there will always be one or 2 bullets in a 5 shot group that will make a buzzing noise and when I hear that the bullet usually is off by 6 to 8 inches from the group. I think they are too long for a 1x14 twist barrel to stabilize. One thin about the 64 gr Winchester PP, I could probably use them for small deer. I shot a cayote with one and it went through it with a fist size exit hole. Definitely good enough for small white tails, and porkers if head shot. goodluck man, josh.
