<Menander>Expander size
I have been checking the expanders on all my die sets (.243, .264, .277, .308, .321, .366 and .375 caliber). All have a diameter of 0.02mm/0.0008" less than the bullets. Except my 6.5x55 ! The expander is only 6.65mm/0.2618".
Is there any reason for this and will my 6.5 loads start to shoot as well as all of my other loads if I make a 6.69/0.263" expander ?

GeorgeSIt's so you'll have neck tension on the bullets.

<Mike M>What is the actual diameter of the bullets you are shooting? I know that Norma used to make 7 MM bullets that were .283 rather than .284, and may still. I don't know if the same holds true for 6.5 bullets.
If your bullets are actually .264. I would say that you might be slighly better served with a larger expander.
