We shooters and hunters are really such a fickle lot....we will do and say whatever comes to mind to justify why we own a this or that.
Here's a few true but irrelevant statements:
1. There's more bullets available for this caliber...
2. This caliber has a better ballistic coefficient
3. Ammo is more available for the .xxx
4. My .yyy is more efficient
5. This caliber has a wider range of bullets available
6. You'll have longer barrel life with a .zzz
add to the list as one chooses...
It's all part of the banter that goes with sitting around the campfire after someone has just dragged in a 350 pound Minnesota Whitetail and everyone is enjoying a beer and deerburgers....it's not just what we do...it's who we are.
