skhunter160gr - 7mm rem mag
Just wondering thoughts on H1000 (or others) in the 7mm rem mag with 160 gr bullets vs RL22. RL22 has become a touch and go affair in the past few years and I see lots suggesting H1000, which seem to always be available. I did try some 7828 and it looked promising but need to restock, so thought best time for input would be before i buy

Thanks

fredj338I have several friends that swear by H1000 under 160-175gr bullets. I like IMR7828 just a bit better in my 7rm than RL22.

da_sidewinder7828 has been working for me with 160gr NP'S in the 3 7 mags I have owned. Speeds are'nt quite up with rl22...but 3000fps works for me.
Accuracy has also been good with IMR 4831, 4350 4064 in that order. RL 19, AND 22 are both good choises. 22 being a bit better imo. My experiance with the 7 mag is almost everything works. AA3100 with a 140gr seirra has been super accurate to punch paper with.
Riflesmith in NM told me THE 7mag powder is H1000.
I have excellent results with IMR4831, Retumbo, Re22 and Re25 with 160 and heavier bullets.

skhunterThanks, just looking for secondary option if for some reason I couldn't get RL22 or got a lot that didn't perform well. Who knows I might find the "bomb" in the process
