230 gr failsafe advice please.....
I picked up a bunch of blems on midways sale a month or so back. I want to try them in my .340 wby but I can't find any data out there.
I know it's a big long bullet for its wt. Do you think I'd be safe using normal 250 grain data?? If you've had experience with these in a .340 or .338 mag you can probably tell me if my guess is correct?? Thanks.

Thanks much Jeff....forgot that nosler was tied in with the win line and they might have data. I have the #4 manual and see from the data you put out that my thinking was pretty right....should be safe using 250 data. Thanks AGain.

Nosler has discontinued those bullets. They are wonderful bullets. I just layed in a supply. The .338 FailSafes in 230 grain weight are on sale by Nosler itself for 45% off. Get 'em while you can. That bullet is a perfect match for the 340 Weatherby.

MIdway had "blems" on sale for $9.99/50--I picked up 100. My gun has also liked the 250 partitions real well. Some day may try the northfork bonded and tsx but heck---with that much bullet even a good old $.17 cent hornady is all you need for most anything.

If you want Failsafe loading data get a Nosler #5 manual.

Great bullet heavy game like Moose or Brown bear, but a little tough for elk and below.
