300winnie.257 Weatherby Magnum
I am getting ready to start load workup for the 110 grain Nosler Accubond in my .257 Weatherby.

I want to have a nice combination of speed and accuracy (don't we all). I would like to see velocities in the 3450-3500 range. I have three suitable powders on hand, two of which I have 5+ pounds.

What powder would you start off with?IMR 4831IMR 7828H1000

vapodogIf you decide to own another powder look to RL25
One of the powders most often used in the .257 Wby is RL22. I can't remember my exact load, but I'm 1-2 grs below book max, and I believe I get around 3460 fps with 100 grs TSX bullets in a 25.5" barrel.
Use the search function for information on the .257 Wby, and you'll see an awful lot of RL 22 loads - some quite a bit faster than mine...

phurley5300winnie ---- I shot H-1000 until I discovered RL-22. I still use it for my target loads using 110grain Berger and 115 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. For my hunting bullet, which is Nosler Partition I use 68 grains of RL-22 and a Fed 215M primer. Do not start at 68, work you way up to that. That combo has killed about a dozen Deer per year for a while for my grandsons.

Good luck and good shooting.
