223 compared to 22-250
Hello
I would like to have the forum opinion on who will give the best precision of cal 223 or 22-250.Will be used for competition shooting on range from 50 to 250m.Some rifle do now have a barrel with 1-8" in 223,so it will be possible to use mybee up to a 80grs bullet.22-250 is normal with barrel 1-14" and will be best with 53grs bullets. In my area some wind to fight with,so any help will be great!

if one is shooting 250 meters and with some wind IMO the extra velocity of the .22-250 will help you.

Both these cartridges can be extremely accurate.

If the 22-250 we compare the 223 with has a 1 in 8 or 9 inch twist, the 22-250 may shoot smaller groups, However, with your 1 in 8 twist you can beat the 22-250 if it has a 1 in 12 or 14 twist, as you can shoot the VLD bullets which have superb accuracy in bolt rifles well beyond 250 meters.
