I'm in the process of having a 7x57 built. While I'm waiting I figure I might as well start stocking up on some components. I have found brass for the Mauser from Remington, Winchester, and Norma. The Norma brass I notice is easily twice the price. Is it worth the cost? I have never tried it in other rifles I load for.

Probably is, in my limited experience (6mm Rem).

Ive found it to be good stuff, more uniform and require less prep than Rem, Fed and Win.

I will use Norma Brass if I possibly can. Next I like Winchester. Good shooting.

How does Lapua compare with Norma?

Lapua is better.

If you're going to spend the money, go with Lapua - it's better than Norma IMHO.

To talk about brass quality and not about caliber : Norma, Lapua and RWS are equal.

But Lapua is less expensive than Norma, this in nearly all calibers. So Lapua is the best choice just reagarding the cost.

Lapua is better than Norma but Norma is better than Win or Rem. RWS I don't know, never tried.

Just my opinion but I think allmost all do agree that the european stuff is more uniform and needs less preparation than the US stuff.

Lapua has drilled flashholes, Norma does not exept for the Weatherby brass.

The 220 Russian and 338 Lapua Magnum from Lapua I would say nobody can argue is the best there is.

Norma would be worth the money if it weren't for a company called Lapua ... The Lapua is better quality for less money...

It's excellent brass with respect to mimimum case prep and uniformity.......it is however "softer" than other brands. I typically don't get as many reloads out of Norma.

Norma and Lapua are both excellent brass and they utilize the small flash hole, which most consider contribute to their accuracy in the 308 Win. Especially with RWS 5341 primers. I use lapua Brass because it is cheaper than Norma in my 308 Win, but when I find Norma cheap I buy it. The main thing is standarize and use a good primer like Federal Gold Medal 210 match, to bring out the best in accuracy. I also use alot of Federal Prem. Brass in my hunting guns.

All brass from Norma and Lapua has "drilled" flash holes. Norma makes some brass and ammo for wincester in the metric calibers ex. the 9,3X62
