I have a ton of Lake City brass from blackhills and ultramax reloaded .223 ammo. I have conflicting reports on its worth for reloading. I have heard its great and I have also heard that is militarty and needs to be trimmed then you can get 2-3 loadings from it. Someone want to clear this up for me?

Lake City brass is top notch. Once it's trimmed and the primer pocket deburred you can expect a minimum of 3 firings before trimming is needed. Some lots may be heavier than WW or Remington brass. The Black Hills stuff has probably already been swaged and trimmed.

Lake City brass is top notch. If it's not Match brass you'll need to swage or mill the primer pockets as already mentioned.

If you load to reasonable levels and neck size only (for a bolt gun) then you can reload many times before needing to trim again.

If you full length resize (especially if small base) for an M1A or M14, then it'll stretch quicker.

Shoot it all through once before you reload the whole batch, then it can all be treated the same.

Lake City is good brass. The problem comes in the form of how much brass was removed when the primer pockets were reamed. The commercial boys occasionally take a big bite out of the primer pocket.
