Anyone out there using this combo? Recommendations on best powder, etc...? Thanks in advance.

DonatoSave your money and use the 140gr Barnes triple shock. Try IMR 4350,4831 and Win 760 for powders

vapodogYou didn't say what rifle you was using.....if a modern bolt action and not a pre'98 model you can load it like a 7-08 or more.....most handloads will be CYA for lesser rifles.
In any case you can load it almost like any 150 grain bullet except I'd back off 3% or so because the jacket on the Scrirocco is very heavy and will resist going thru the rifling a trifle more.....RL19, H4831, H414 will do fine.

nyriflemanI'm using a pre-64 Winchester 70. No interest in Barnes bullets of any flavor.

1894mk2I worked on this combination in a Shihlen barreled rifle.
I was given 25 bullets by a friend which showed great promise indeed under VVN160. Arriving at an accurate and fast load (near 2,800fps)I bought a box of 100 and luckily downloaded some.
The new bullets caused pressure signs at significantly lower velocities and fouled like crazy - I had to get JB bore paste to remove it, shooters choice would not touch it.
Now that Hornady is doing the 139 and ?154gr Interbond and Nosler the ?gr Accubond, the Scirrocco is IMHO history. Why go for all the trouble that soft copper entails when the IB does the same job without.
From what I have heard the Scirrocco is rather too soft and overexpansive. The IB on the other hand is fantastic. My gunsmith has shot about 30reds with it and swears by it.

nyriflemanAny other opinions on the IB? I've bought the AB and have been working with those-no groups under 1 inch yet.
