458 Lott Help
Need a favour from someone with quickload please. The following is the load data and i am interested in the pressure difference and predicted difference in velocity

Load 1
Calibre: 458 Lott
Powder: S355 (Somchem)
Weight: 77 grains
Bullet: 500 grain Hornady DGS
Primer: CCI 250
Case:Hornady

Load 2
Calibre: 458 Lott
Powder: S335 (Somchem)
Weight: 80 grains
Bullet: 500 grain Hornady DGS
Primer: CCI 250
Case: Hornady

Although QL does have problems predicting the internal ballistics for straight cases like the Lott, 80 grains is pretty Hot, you may want to think about that one for a while.

By no means take this as a fact without research and testing but S 321 produces about the same energy with less pressure.

Just one more thought.

On the QL graph:

Yellow means you are in a comfortable pressure zone.

Purple means you’re tickling the dragon’s tail.

Red means you’re flirting with disaster. Wink

I feel more comfortable with S 355.
