Swift A-frames or Northforks?
Which one for reliable big game performance and accuracy? I know some of you guys have tested both. What were your findings? Thanx

R FlowersPop, I probably should not even reply here because I have worked with the Swift A-Frames in exactly one gun.
HOWEVER, the 300 grain Swifts that I tested in a 375 H&H were EXTREMELY accurate. I could shoot three shot groups at a 100 yards that you could cover with a quarter, and those are pretty big holes in the paper. The guy who owned the gun took them to Africa and shot a couple of buffalo with them and they worked perfectly.
Just one gun, but the ones I shot were accurate for sure.

jorgeDitto the accuracy on my 375 H&H with 300gr A Frames, 225gr 338s, 400gr 416 Rigby. So-so in my 180gr 300 H&H & 300 Weatherby. FANTASTIC effect on game! jorge

Bwana-beYou're talking about two of the most respected bullets on the market; both have outstanding reputations. You're just going to have to get a box of each and see which one you find a load for first. Not sure what chamber you're putting these in, but the NF are a bit longer, grain-for-grain, than the Swifts, so might mean something. In a 308, e.g., you might want that extra room for powder.

jorgeThen you need the extra room for that Weatherby case. If the Swifts shoot and the 300gr A Frames are very accurate in my experience go with those. The NFs do invade the case a lot. jorge

fredj338When I get back from africa I plan on trying some Swifts in .404. The 380grNF is a sub MOA in my rifle, I'm sold on that.

I do not think so. I called the manufacturer today and I got some insight. I'll call you on it.

phurleyPOP ----- I have shot hundreds of rounds of both bullets with the following chamberings, 7mm, 30 cal, .338 cal as in .338 Win, .340 Wby, .338 Lapua, .358 as in STA, .416 as in .416 Rem and Rigby. I hunt everything in North America and am headed for Africa this year. I prepare by shooting, shooting, and then shooting more. I have found the North Fork bullet to be the most accurate of all the premium bullets. I shoot only two rifles that liked Swift A-Frames as well, not better, was my .338 Lapua, and it also liked the Barnes X as well. The second rifle is a .300 Win mag that still likes the old Nosler Partition as well but not better then the North Fork. All the others mentioned liked the North Forks by far the best. ----- In my opinion there is not better premium bullet than the North Fork, their consistency, accuracy, and toughness being the key ingredients, with accuracy being absolutely the top.
