Lee dies in a rcbs press?
A friend of mine just gave me a set of 222rem. dies. The problem is i only have a rcbs press. Is there anyway i can make the dies fit with not a lot of extra expense? thanx

I'm miffed, I have no experience with Lee but I assumed all dies were 7/8x14 threads!! I suppose you never get to old to learn something. Based on that then I will probably never own a set of Lee dies.

Correction, I just went out to the shop and I do have some Lee dies for a 250-3000 Savage and they are 7/8x14 and fit in all my presses, so whats the deal????

Just try them. Lee's fit my Redding Ultra Mag perfectly.

I use Lee dies in my Rockchucker. They are a standard thread.

Been using Lee dies in my RCBS presses for years. First a Junior then later a Rock Chucker. Have you tried them?
Good luck and good shooting

ALL dies fit in ALL presses. Just like all floppy disks fit in all computers.

I have Lee, Sinclaire, and RCBS dies, and an RCBS and Pacific Press. Everything fits in everything. (Thank gawd!)

For that matter, my RCBS neck brushes fit in my Lyman handles. My Lyman handles fit in my cleaning rod extensions, jags, etc.

It's nice that someone decided that uniform dimensions/specs are worth adhering to.

Yep, you screw them in the press, doesn't cost a thing. Any makers dies for common calibers fit in the majority of all presses. The only exceptions are oddball calibers like the 50 BMG.

Could it be, you have the Lee loader? In that case the dies will not have threads. These are neck size, mallet driven dies; no easy way to get them in the press. Get a mallet.

or is the bushing with the RCBS ( Rockchucker ) lost and the thread size is too big for the dies? Im sure you can get an 1 1/2 ? to 7/8 x 14 adapter from them.

Good shooting! Hermann

redneck7mm,

I have one RCBS Rock Chucker Press and one Lee Turret for holes press.
For both press I used die sets from Lyman, Rcbs, Honardy and Lee (depend on caliber). I can change all die set if I want with all press depend on the work (neck up new cases,...) I reload 8 calibers with this way without any problems. I advice you if you have a Rock Chucker press to use lock ring from RCBS in this way all your dies will be adjusted how you want.
