Devildawg66North Fork Bullets
I loaded some North Fork Bullets for a Namibia plains game hunt that I recently completed. I was able to recover 3 from game that was taken and thought I would share the results with my AR friends. These are all 180gr with a muzzle velosity of 3100 fps 10' from the muzzle of a 300 Win Mag 26" barrel. I would not hesitate to use these bullets in the future for similar size game out to 200 yards.
#1 is from a Zebra at 200 yards shot was in the left center shoulder and the bullet was found under the skin on the right shoulder. Wieght as found 155.4 gr.
#2 is from a 100 yard Texas heart shot Hardebeest. Bullet was found laying just between the shoulder blades. It traveled the full length of the spine. Weight as found 154.2 gr.
#3 is from a 150 yard high center left shoulder shot on a Blesbuck. Bullet was found high in the center of the right rib cage just under the skin. Weight as found 159.7 gr.
Weight retention in all cases was 85% plus.

vapodogThanks for the report.....
I think you'd have the same results with a A-Frame as the bullets are very sililar in their design.
These bullets make the .300 mag act more like a .338 mag and that's a good thing with the bigger critters.

grizz007good report on the NorthForks-thanks. I have some for my .338-06 and have not "field" tested them yet. as vapo says they look what my Swifts do after a kill-excellent!

fredj338Thanks for sharing. I like Mike's bullets, used them in Moz. two years ago in my 404jeffery. I didn't recover any, but everything shot went down w/ one shot. I'm sold.
