Use of IMR3031 in a 22-250.
I have a couple of pounds of 3031 to get rid of.

Was thinking of using it in a 22-250, mainly because its not mine, and I dont really have a use for it in my own rifles.

Any suggestions using 50gn-60gn bullets?

Millsie 67 - The latest edition (5th) of the Nosler manual lists loads for the 22-250 using IMR 3031:

50 Grain Bullets - Min of 28.5 gr., Max of 32.5 gr., velocity range 3260 to 3690 fps.

55 Grain Bullets - Min of 28.0 gr., Max of 32.0 gr., velocity range 3200 to 3600 fps.

They do not list IMR 3031 for their 60 grain bullets. I haven't personally tried these loads.

Hope this helps - pagris

IMR 3031 works just fine in a 22/250. If you own a 7mm Mauser, I have also found that cartridge really seems to like the burn rate of 3031.

If we were not an ocean away, I would be happy to take it off of your hands. Alas, the miles between. I am sure the governments were make a nightmare out of it also.
