Anyone out there reload those 115gr Round nose bullets in their .243. I bought some a while back but haven't reloaded them yet and don't have any data yet.

Yeah, I did. They shot okay. Accuracy was typical Barnes. Did not have an opportunity to use them on game, even tho I carried them afield.

IMR 4831, RL 19, H 1000 will all work well.

I don't know about round-noses, but could not stabilize 117 VLD in a 6mm-284 with ex-.243 varmint barrel.

Fred Barnes and I made up a 6m/m X.270 Imp. just to shoot his original 115 gr. bullet. It had good hunting accuracy and was a fantaasstic deer killer if the hunter did his part.I shot only 2 varmints with it that I remember. Not much left to eat.

Tom,

You need a 1 in 8 twist minimum to stabilize the VLD bullets of that size. The 1 in 9 or 1 in 10 won't do it. 1 in 7 or 7.5 is even better.

They do make great long distance bullets tho when stabilized.
