SaeedRCBS MATCHMASTER!
We tried setting one up.
Gave up in frustration with all the stupid settings one has to go through to measure powder!
And it has an APP too!
Has stupidity r3ached this level now?
Why cannot we have a simple way to measure powder, like their old one?

The handbook had - I am not kidding - almost a whole page of different types of powders one has to set before being able to through a charge!
Each type has a code one has to enter before a charge is dropped!
I am absolutely certain whoever designed this is related to Kamala Word Salad!

FjoldI use the old Chargemaster. I had a lot of trouble with it holding accuracy initially but then figured out the normal utility voltage and frequency drift was affecting it negatively. Once I plugged it into the UPS it's been very accurate.

SaeedI have been using the CHARGEMASTER 1500 for years.
Works great.
Only reason I got the new one was for its speed.
Companies no longer design tools for their intended purpose.
They are designed by IDIOTS!

I think these companies have lost the ability to design electronic tools that are simple to use.
They go crazy including a thousand different options and settings, all of which are painfully difficult to decipher and 999 of which no one will ever use.

I said “smart means a machine that decides what to do?”
“Yes sir. It does everything automatically!”
“Does it drink the coffee too?”
She started laughing.
“No sir. It makes the coffee and you drink it!”
“How does it know what sort of coffee I want?”
“You program it in sir!”
I had two friends with me, and two lady customers in the shop.
Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and just stood there laughing!
“That is where the problem is. I wouldn’t know how to program it. So, can I have a machine that just makes coffee when I turn it on? That is about as much programming my brain is capable of when it comes to coffee!”
“Yes sir. This model is very simple. You just turn it on, put a coffee pod in and press either of these two buttons. One for Expresso and one for Americano”
One of my friends said “perfect! Simple machine for simple minds!”
Everyone burst out La.
I bought the simple machine!

WstrnhuntrI have tried about a dozen powder measures and an Lyman electronic dispenser. The dispenser sits on the bench looking sophisticated and gathering dust because its accuracy is less consistent than the average PM.
My favorite anymore has become the old Belding and Mull. Yes, its a little fiddly. But it is on the nut every time. No trickling necessary, ever! Just drop a charge and go.

Michael RobinsonI still use my ancient, mechanical Ohaus 1010 scale as quality control to check the accuracy of my electronic RCBS Chargemaster 1500 measure.
The Chargemaster is not so quick to operate, but it has proven to be reliably accurate.

StonecreekWith fine-grained powders you can't get more accurate than the good old Redding powder measure will throw. It's been around for at least 60 years that I know of.
For coarse-grained powders just set the Redding a little light, drop into your scale's powder pan, then trickle the charge up to the desired weight. Much easier, quicker, more accurate, and CHEAPER than using one of those Rube Goldberg "automatic" powder dispensers.

SaeedSadly, it seems RCBS are not as they used to be.
A friend brought an RCBS electric case trimmer having problems with it.
He sais it keeps stopping.
We set it up, and he was right.
Trimming 5 cases it become sp hot, and stops working!
What a bloody shame from the days when Buzz used to run it!

AtkinsonI use an old Hollywood post single stage press that weighs enough to cause a Hernia to lift. I picked it up at the city dump, true story, cleaned it up to as new and been using it for every thing even bullet swaging. I see them for sale for $250 to $400 on the net or wherever..Id never sell it, well never say neverbut Ive had it for maybe 70 or more years..Also have a RCBS A-2 for 50 caliber BMG reloading, but never used it for that, just some big bore monsters.

Uncle GrinchGot two electronic powder scale/dispenser, the Hornady is never accurate when initially set. It almost always over charges. Takes too much fiddling with the settings to make it work. Especially aggravating if I’m only trying to load 10 rounds to test a new load. The RCBS is actually an Ohaus scale only. It works great after you let it warm up for several minutes. I use it with my Lee dippers and things go very quick with this process. Almost as quick as my old Redding oil reservoir balance beam scale!

skl1I used PACT's automatic dispenser for 20 years. When it failed, I was looking at RCBS and at the Auto-Trickler v3 and v4 that's all the rage in PRS. I started dropping with the powder measure again. It's easier, quieter. It's faster to change powders and reset than with the electronic tool! It doesn't drop over as often. Can't believe I switched initially.
I DO like my Frankfort arsenal case trimming/prep tool though. Much easier and faster than the manual tools for that operation.

JTEXThe auto trickler V4 is what I use....I don't think it can be beat!

Fjold90% of my reloading is done on an old RCBS powder measure and checked with my RCBS 5-0-5 scale.
I only use the chargemaster when I'm doing high volume pistol ammo, and the Dillons are used for 223 plinking ammo for the kids.
All the serious hunting and varminting rounds are hand thrown and weighed.

I was at a garage sale there on the table was a 7 hole turret reloading press.
I picked it up it is heavy 40 lbs. or so.
Paid 10 dollars for.
Have no clue who made it.
But I have loaded many 10's of thousands of rounds with it.

Exactly!
The previous one works, I have been using it for ages.
New one has been designed by rank IDIOTS!
One has to go through so many steps, and if you get one wrong, it stops working.
Even how to empty the powder is an exercise in stupidity!
