WC 852 powder
Guys, I'd like to use the above powder (batch number 47287) to reload 175gr PSP Remington bullets for my 7mm rem mag Parker Hale hunter. Your charge suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
So far I've found that in 7.5x55 the above powder is practically equivalent with the XMR 4350 but I am not sure about using it in 7mm rem mag configuration.
Thanks,

TCLouisThere are three distinctly different batches of WC-852 out there. slow to fairly fast.
It seems you have the slow batch, and one may to try treating it like 4350 or 4831 and sneak up on a chronograph to check to see that it is holding to this burn rate in the quantities in the Mag!

rickt300I have some of the slow stuff. I use H414 as starting data. I really like this powder for my 7x57 and want to use some with the 150 grain Gameking in my present 7MM Rem mag. It seemed a bit slow in my 308 though.
TCLouis, is this IMR4350 or ACCUR 4350?
Thanks,
Mine is sure enough the slow batch and based on the burn rate I was told it's equivalent to IMR4831 and/or H450. Based on that info I reloaded 5 test rounds at 60gr. My reloading manual's IMR 4831 range is 56.5gr to 62gr.
I'll shoot the 5 test rounds tomorrow and report back.....hopefully
After reloading 20 cases with 60gr of WC852 (batch number 47287) & 175 SP bullets my Parker Hale produced the following results at 100 yards. Not bad but I am still fine tunning since I believe this rifle can do better. Velocity average was 2,570f/s.
Today I reloaded 61gr, 61.5gr & 62gr cases. I'll report velocity increases as I shoot them.
