shootaway: Good work with the H4350. You might also want to try H1000 with the Barnes TSX 180 grain bullet. In my rifle 81 grains produces 0.75"-.080 groups at 100 yards (with WLR primers).

Nice groups. I've developed another load for my 300 WM. 180 grain Nosler BT or Accubond with 77 grains of H4831 = velocity of 3060 fps out of a 26" tube. Very accruate and a great performer in the field especially with the Accubond.

N E 450 No2
Several years ago THE powder of choice for the 300 Win Mag by 1000 Yard shooters was IMR 4350.
There are several new powders on the market since then... but IMR 4550 is still a good choice for accurate loads in the 300 Win.

Shootaway,
I hope you have good luck out of your rifle. I would suggest trying H4831sc with the 180 grainers. My 300 win mag shoots nosler BT's exceptionally well with that combo, who knows it might work for you. It will be a little slower burning than the IMR 4831, so it may turn out better for you.
Good Luck,
CRoberts

I was at the range again today testing loads, and had surprising results.I re-shot the above loads with the same results to double check.I let the molly do its stuff and left the barrel unclean throughout the time. Not being that happy with the results so far,and thinking I seen the best of the rifle,I decided to try a group using some 6 yr old powder I had left from loading the 7mmmag.I used the tsx 180gr molly coated with 76g of vv 560.I took got this load from the AR reloading pages ignoring that it had poor results.Guess what, it stole the show.It gave me a one inch group strung out horizontally.I might stop here after I chrono this load.I believe that the throat of the barrel will wear out very soon if I continue and velocity and accuracy will diminish.I think I found a super load for caribou.
