You also have to find out if your local zoning board will allow ammunition manufacturing in your area.

I really don't think you wanna do this...

Zoning can be funny about things like this. A local guy is running a body shop out of his garage. Zoning approved it in a residential zone as long as he didn't have an employees that had to park on his property and customers could only be there between 8am and 6pm. Obviously the drugs they do are good.

Our local pistolsmith has a shop that was a 4 bay block/cement garage. They allow him to manufacture pistol ammo in the middle of the town without problems.

Is that still going to be profitable after you pay for the substantial liability insurance policy you'll need?

Just on the off chance you didn't know, if you produce ammo for someone else, and get paid for it, you need a federal license.

Not only do you need a Federal Manufacturer's License, you also need a ton and a half of liability insurance!

And don't forget, if you are a manufacturer, you have to meet all OSHA requirements as well as EPA requirements.

You also have to find out if your local zoning board will allow ammunition manufacturing in your area.
