Hi,

I'm trying to load some 7m/m Win. Short Mags with 139 gr. Hornady SP's, but don't know what the OAL should be. Does anyone have the Hornady manual and could look it up for me?
Any help would be appreciated.

2.830 in the Hornady #6 manual.

If it were my rifle, I'd find out what its COL is in THAT chamber. So long as it fits in the mag, I'd get it as close as I could to the lands. The M70 box is plenty long. You might end up closer to 3.1" than 2.8". Keep in mind this IS the beauty of reloading. The manufacturers and relaoding manuals have to keep everyone's rifle in mind, but you have only your own rifle to worry about.

I have a A-Bolt Browning in the 7WSM and looked at my records and see that I load all 139 HDY sp and sst bullets at my max magazine length of 2.860". I like to seat my bullets just off the rifling so you have to make sure your rifle will allow the length that you load at. BM
