vipAccurate powders
What's the story with Accurate powders? I can't seem to find them around anymore. I liked the 3100 and 2015.

2ndtimerAccurate 3100 has been discontinued for about a year now. Accurate 2015 is still being manufactured (imported, I believe), but like most .223 applicable powders, is very difficult to find in stock online or in person. Keep checking, and if you find some, be prepared for higher prices.

ramrod340Peter,
I bought surplus 3100 as it was labeled probably 30 yrs ago. I picked up 3 bottles if my memory is working. At that time Grafs had a store in St Charles, MO. It had a load list printed on the side and I was told to use 4831 data just start low and work up. It was hotter than my surplus 4831. I gave at least half of it away. I never got the accuracy I wanted.
Do a web search others reference surplus 3100 I could be incorrect in assuming that the old surplus 3100 I bought was later Accurate 3100.

Ramrod, I believe that powder was labelled as accurate Magnum Rifle Powder. I had a pound of it as well. Then in 2005, they offered up Data 86 powder, which also was very close to Accurate 3100 in burning rate. I still have most of an 8 lb keg of it, as well as another unopened 8 pounder. It has worked quite well in the .243 Winchester, 6.5x55 and .270WSM. I have also loaded some in the 6mm Remington and the .280 Remington. Pretty good for less than $10 per lb delivered back in the day.
Here is a link to the accurate loading data:
