MichaeljcanoeIn '93 after having my 7x57 improved, I did a little informal testing. I've ended up shooting the 139 grain Hornady bullet, Rem primers and 48 grains of 4064, with groups just under an inch. Vel is 2922'/sec. Also shot 50 grains of H414 (but not through a chronograph) with a group measuring.75 inches. My Ruger77 standard barrel was improved. This is just general information. I've taken 8-10 elk and quite a number of deer, bear, sheep and antelope with it. Michael

DigitalDanMike, is it cold up there in Missoula?
Sam, Don't have a recipe myself but a buddy shoots the ".275 Rigby Improved" from a Ruger#1 with a 28" Lilja tube. I linked this to him so he might respond. As I recall he was runnin' neck and neck with the 7 Rem Mag, spotting it little more than double digit speed advantage. He likes RX19 I think.

sambubbaThanks for the replies guys.
Sambubba, I've loaded for several 7x57AI's and with the 140 grainers they all shoot very well with H4350. As far as being able to achieve 7 mag velocity I didn't see that but they will give the 280 a run for the money.
