Is there a real world difference? I have always loaded with the Federal GM215M Match but now my local is only stocking the regulars. Has anyone experienced or found realy differences with regard to deviation or other? THANK YOU

I haven't found any difference, other than the price.

I don't even bother to test or load with any of the "Match Grade" primers anymore.

It depends on each individual rifle. I have good luck w/ match primers in my .338-06 & .308. Just a bit better accuracy. having said tha I also get good results w/ rem 9 1/2 in my .280.

At least for Federal, the match grade primers go through one extra step which I understand to be sorting by weight, much the same as you do when you trickle the last few grains of propellant into the scale. If you sort your primers by weight you can accomplish much the same thing. You'll find a great deal more uniformity in the weight of the primer pellet and the entire primer than you will in the regular primers. I principally use the match primers just to achieve this uniformity when going for extreme accuracy. I also use them in my hunting loads. In the real world it probably doesn't make that much difference.

I use the Federal Match grade primers exclusively now. I shoot 2500 to 3000 per year and the extra few dollars it cost me each year is peanuts. Since I started using them only I am shooting more good groups and smaller. ----- This could be from that fact I have established more good loads and my rifles are all veterens of the shooting wars. I certainly don't think using the Match grade primers will hurt you or your groups. Good shooting.
