<Powderman>Cheddite "Rex" Powder
Hi! Need some advice and any info I can get. I need to find a powder to load .45 ACP to military (hardball) specs. I like Power Pistol, but it's kinda pricey.
Stopped in a gun store yesterday, and saw some
Cheddite "Rex" powder.
It looked interesting. Comes in a metal canister (not too sure I like that, but I can get around it), and had loading data on the can for .45 ACP. The price was DEFINITELY right--$22.00 for a one kilogram can (2.2 lbs).
Has any one used this powder? Does anyone currently use it? How is it--clean, dirty?
From the charge weight listed--4.8 grains for the 230 grain bullet--sounds in the same league as Clays.
Any information is helpful.

ricciardelliThat data is for lead bullets, not hardball.
And although $22 is cheap, it can be had for around $17.50 per kilo.
Powder is Hungarian in origin...
Try 10.2 grains of Blue Dot.
