Many of the firearms today use "floating firing pins / strikers. When the cartridge is loaded into the chamber, the firing pin can go forward and strike the primer. Military primers are made with a stronger primer cup to prevent the primer firing from this light strike.
The primers may also have a sealed explosive pellet to prevent water damage.

I figured they were made by regular manufacture. I assume they are good to go in bolt action?

Check out CCI 34 primers… if you can find them.

I have been using the CCI #34 military primers in place of the CCI Magnum primers. I have shot a couple hundred of them and they are working great.

I have been using them due to the fact I couldn't get any of the regular Magnum primers.
