I would like to know what is your favorite load with this cartridge. Factory or hand loaded.. and also, what game (elk/deer.etc) you have used this load on.

steve4102I have a Browning BAR in 300WSM. I have 2 loads that work well in my 300WSM.
71gr Ramshot Hunter
165gr Nosler Partition
Fed 215 Primer
3150fps
70gr Ramshot Hunter
180gr Nosler Accubond
Fed 215 primer
3005fps
Both of these loads are very accurate, sub MOA.
I took 3 Whitetails with this rifle in 2004. One at 75 one at 120 and one at 276 yards. All three went down hard and fast.
165 Nosler BT, WLRM, 54 Gr. 4895
165 Gr. NBT, WLRM, 55 Gr Varget
6 Whitetail deer over 2 seasons, 1 bullet recovered from a raking shot, sub 3/4MOA load
168Gr Sierra MK, 55 Gr Varget, WLRM, .6MOA load, most accurate of anything thus far
180 Nosler BT, WLRM, 65 Gr H4350, 3/4 MOA, 4 Whitetail deer last season, all passthroughs
180 Hornady SST, 64 Gr H4350, WLRM, 1 MOA, 2 Whitetail deer in 2003-4 season
The only 2 deer than ran were the 2 (1 SST, one 180BT) that got clean hits behind the shoulder with only ribs and lungs hit...both ran about 100 yards. The rest got a shoulder/heart shot (broadside or raking) and went STRAIGHT down.
All from the same Model 70 Classic Stainless, factory barrel. I got decent accuracy with 4831 and 200 Grain Sierra Gamekings, but haven't used them on game yet. Magpro sucked. H414 sucked. H4831SC was decent, but only sub 1.5MOA. Vihtavouri N560 was no better than 4831 and much pricier. Win 180 BST factory loads were decent, but 1.5MOA, Win 180 FS factory loads were 2MOA. That's one rifles history. HTH!
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

SouthpawDVSavage 11FL 300WSM.
165gr. Hornady Interbond's
IMR 4350, or H4350, CCI 250's, Win. cases.
Both loads shoot great, 3 shots in less than 1" at 100yards, and 5 shot groups at around 1.2 to 1.4"
H4350 yeilds a bit lower MV of about 3090fps, while IMR 4350 yeilds about 3120fps.
I have taken 3 deer and 1 wolf with this load, have never recovered a bullet even after hitting an Alberta WT at about 125yards right through the ball in the hip joint(running shot)
The Interbond's seem to perform as advertised, even on a 65 yard broadside shot on a doe (went square through the heart), not much for blood shot either.

Reloader180 NBT, Win Brass, WLRM Primer, 66.5 grn R22, Velocity 2940 fps @ 12-15' from Muzzle, Accuracy = .6s sometimes better. Haven't killed anything w/ it but, Paper sure hates it

.
165 grn Speer Hot Cores worked well w/ 67-68 grains of R22.
Those are the two best shooters I've used in this stock Savage 16 Weather Warrior. It has a fast barrel, much faster than published data so your vel. results may vary a bit.
Good Luck!

River Bottoms Red NeckH4350 with the 125 gr. BT gives .5 MOA accuracy at 3550 fps
I use N550 behind the 150 (3250 fps)and 175 to 180 gr. (2950 to 3000 fps) bullets. Again accuracy is in the .5 MOA range or less. All loads use the Federal 210M primer. I have shot enough of those loads to toast the throat in the first Lilja barrel and am no on my second one. It likes the same loads the first one did.

owensbyI have the 300wsm in a browning stalker,I don't hunt with it as of yet, only shoot it from the bench sometimes.
Mostly use the 150 gr bullets but have shot some impressive groups using 180 gr sst's.
