I always notice this even with fresh brass of any caliber. Are Win primers a little small or the pockets oversize?? What are your observations?

I notice the same thing but they always function OK. I also use WW brass & WLR primers.

If you are concerned use Federal. I notice they are a tighter fit.

I have been using Win primers for years. I think what you are noticing is that Win Primers are made with from a softer cup metal. I have noted that Win primers seem to seat easier and "flatten" at similar pressures that seem to have no effect on Rem or Fed or CCI primers.

Yeah, I have a lot of 1,000 and they're not very tight. Word I've heard is that when the boys at Olin did away with the silver plating on the primers they didn't realize they had to increase the cup to compensate for the lost extra metal... apparently they've now made the change and only older lots have this problem.
