Weatherby brass
Groups average under .75
Velocity 3464 average
Barnes 225 "X"
116.5 Retumbo
Federal 215 magnum primer
Weatherby brass
Group average .550
velocity average 3300
Sierra 250gr Game King
120.0 H870
Federal 215 magnum primer
Weatherby brass
Group average .870
velocity average 3225
Those are three loads that always work for me. I bought several hundred of Barnes original 250gr spitzer with the .049 jacket and those were lucky to be under three inches with any powder used. The 275gr Speer semi spitzer works well but its out of production. I am still waiting for a shipment of 300gr Hawk rt bullets. These loads are all very safe in my rifle.

KingfisherLarry, I've got a slough of loads for all kinds of bullets. Is there anything in particular you're looking for bullet wise?
I've worked with Nosler Partitions, Ballistic Tips, Barnes XLC's, Scirroco's, Matchkings, etc. This is with a half dozen powders.
My gun has a custom barrel and thus doesn't have the freebore, but my loads will atleast give you a starting point.
You might also check
www.realguns.com and look at Joe's 338/378 info there, that would get you started.

KingfisherYou're not kidding. My load for the 210 gr. Barnes XLC's uses 132 gr. of H-870. That baby will easily gulp down a canister of powder in a sitting or two.
