Ditto what everyone else said about R/L22.

H1000 has been my go to for 300win since it came on the market. also great in 7STW and 300RUM

I'm Kinda with Gonzo, except I don't mind trickling every round for this particular caliber.

I really like the full bore load (according to Accurate Arms) of AA 3100 under 180 Nosler BT in Winchester cases with WLR primers.

Ditto the RL-22 with 180gr. H-1000 with 200gr. This cartridge was made for these bullet weights. I've never used anything lighter than 180gr for the 300 WinMag. When bullets lighter than 180gr are appropriate, I prefer to use my 7-08AI.

thanks

RL22 has always given me the best performance up to 200 grains. Above 200 grains H1000 has worked out better.

In response to 300winnie, I use 73 grs of IMR 4831 with 180 gr Hornady interlock. Muzzle vel is 2974 ft/sec in my 24" barreled 300 Win.

Thanks.

Just trying to see if I am in the ball park so to speak. My gun has liked 74 to 74.5 grains of IMR 4831 in my 26" Browning. I played with H1000 and 200 grain accubonds and just recently learned via loose primer pockets that my "magic" load was too hot. Going to try the 180 Grain accubonds and I have an 8 lb can of IMR 4831. Hoping it works out.

300winnie:

An 8 lb can of powder should last you a month or two. Have fun!

In approx two weeks, I will start to relaod for my Browning 26" 300WM using H4350 (left over from .243 and .270) and H4895. If they don't work out as well, I will switch to RL22.

I dont think it has been mentioned but IMR4350 was one of the best powders in the winnie before the introduction of R22. It may not give the best velocity (close though) but it has been really accurate in several I have tried.

Is that a max load with rl22 and barnes blues? Start at 70 grains?

I worked up some loads for my brother with IMR 4350 behind Nosler 165 bt's and it is deadly accurate, but destroys too much meat when hunting. For punching holes in paper it's very fast and accurate, shoots arond 1/2 inch at 100yds. Never tried the rl22 but I might give it a try oneday seems like alot of you guys like it. I need to work him up a load with a diffrent bullet that won't explode on impact.

Yes, the 79gr load for RL-22, and 73gr load for H-4350 are max loads in my rifle.

I just tried the accubond 180gr with IMR 7828 and fed 215 primers.Loads were 73.5-75.5gr, I got 3 shot groups around 1.25-1.4"{75&75.5} at 103% load density. Two bullets close and my flier!
I am loading this recipe again today with 210m primers to see if I can get closer to the 1" mark.

Are the accubonds holding up well on game at 300 winnie velocities? I have traditionally used the partition. Thanks "D"
