What caliber are you wanting to reload? Most calibers can be found with boxer primers now days. The main problem is finding a good supply of the right size and fresh berdan primers.

What few I've messed with were no harder to reprime than a boxer primed case. I gouged the old primers out with RCBS's tool, modified an old primer punch (made it a tad bit larger in diameter), then seated them in the usual way. The only tough part is finding a good supply in the right size.

Years ago I purchased from RCBS shellholders that had enlarged primer holes that took a priming post (also from RCBS) that was designed for the larger Berdan primers I was using. This system could be used in the old bench tools or the ram prime tool. They were not catalog items then but were readily available. Only way to find out if they are still made is to call them.

I have reloaded both .303Br with 1/4" (6.3mm) berdan primers & 7.62 nato with .21" (5.3mm) primers. The smaller ones are near enough to LR boxer primers .20" (5.1mm) that I just use a std Lee tool. For the larger ones I drilled out the plastic insert of a Lee handpriming tool & made a primer ram with a 1/4" bolt. I used a combination of grinder & dremel tool to shape the end that the handle presses on to match the primer rod in the Lee tool. I had to enlarge the slot the the primer slide into place thru but having done all that I prime them just like any other.

Berdan primers are very hard to find. The "Old Scrounger" used to carry them but he sold out??.
Depriming is easy with a sharp ice pick or some such. Punch into the primer at an angle to avoid the anvil. A quick twist and it's out.
Some berdan primers are near enough to boxer
sizes to insert with out more work. However they
do come in a several odd diameters.
Unless you are loading some expensive exotic
cartridge it is not worth the hassle.
