.223 small base dies
I've had a set of RCBS small base dies for a .223 that I've use to load for an autoloader for about 20 yrs. I don't like the expander button. Anyoneout there know of another die manu. that makes small base dies with a different expander button ie, Hornady's eliptical expander button? I thought after 20yrs I deserve a new set of dies as the RCBS have paid their dues!

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace the expander with an elliptical one? Just wondering, Dutch.

I needed a small base die for my 7mm TCU (based on the .223 Rem case) so forced them through a .357 Mag steel die with light lube (following forming in the TCU die). I use a .32 acp case with a big .308 bullet seated and crimped hard nose down stuck in a .32 acp shell holder as a pusher. Of course you have to remove the guts of the .357 die. Works like a dream and the price was right!
