<RomaRana>7.62X39 loads
I need a little help here because I have hit a wall. I just finished building a 7.62X39 mauser bolt gun. This gun has an extreamly heavy barrel, and I want to get the most possible accuracy out of it. The gun has a .311 bore dia. The problem is that I cannot find any load data over 150 grain bullets for the 7.62X39. The range of data that I can find is 100-150grain. I really need data for jacketed bullets over that. There are some great bullets in that bore dia like the 174 match king and some 180 grainers also. Where can I find this data?

<eldeguello>I have not used the 174-grain, but in my Mini 30 and SKS, I use the Speer .311 180-grain round nose with 28 grains of H335. MV is about 1950 FPS from the Mini 30 barrel. This load has about the same power as the original 1895 load for the .30/30 Win. Also, accuracy is on the order of 2" from the SKS! I think you could use a similar load of H335 with the 180 Sierra spitzer or a good 174-grain spitzer in a bolt ation, maybe a little more!! But, I'd start in the 25 grain range and work up.
