Taipan bullets
I was looking for a cheap bullet to shoot in a 416 Taylor and came across a reference for Taipan bullets. Could anyone enlighten me on this brand and give me a source if possibe? Thanks.

Con
jpex,
Taipan are made in Australia. Owner is Malcolm Bone, his projectiles are basically soft jacketed, pure lead core projectiles with a pretty good reputation for accuracy and performance on "soft" game which is what we have in Australia. If you do a search for Taipan on Google you should eventually find their website. If you contact them direct I'm pretty sure they ship anywhere you want as long as they have the stock to send!!
Cheers...

jpex,
I second what Con said. Good for thin-skinned game, and load development [I use their .375 350gr for this, rather than all Woodleigh].

Could be better to enquire about stock from a dealer, as Malcolm doesn't keep that many varieties around. Though he makes a large range, for the slower-moving stuff, he can be out of stock for some time between production runs.

Here's one dealer

And here's the Taipan website.

You don't say where you are, but if outside Australia, export permits are required for this sort of stuff.

The .416 Taipan bullets work well for what there intended...there great on smaller stuff.
