I've shot 3 elk with a 120g Partition out of my 25-06.
Lasered at 297 -300 yards. All one shot kills.

Recently I've switched to the Barnes TSX.

Steve R, You took a ROS(ration of s...) over your .204 comments and then ask for it again!!!! So this guy who shoots 1/2MOA @ 100 yards just oought to bring his trusty ole 25-06 up to Williamsport to the 1000 yard shoots!! According to your statements.....he should win about every relay!!!...."1/2MOA@ 100=1/2MOA@500=2.5"!!! According to that thinking and reasoning, he'll shoot 5" or 1/2MOA@ 1000....he'll win a bunch!!!! Taking your meds regularly???? GHD

I've had great luck with the Hornady Customs with a 117gr BTSP, the bullet is their own, and IIRC its in the Point Blank bullet database, if you want to pull the BC for it.

Just exactly what is your problem?



MOA is MOA, and inches are inches. 1 MOA is approximately 1" at 100 yards (actually 1.04") and 1 MOA at 500 yards is 5.2", and 10.4" at 1000 yards.



If he is shooting 0.5 MOA, that would equate to 2.6" at 500 and 5.2" at 1000.



For your information 1000 yard shooters are doing less than 3" groups.



Now if you want to start a pissing contest here, you will be pissing in the wind, because I have much better things to do with my time!

Yes MOA is the same at the various yardages. However just because a rifle will group a certain load in .5MOA at 100 doesn't not mean the same load will yield a .5MOA group at 500. The only way to know what the group size really is at 500 yds is to shoot it at 500yds.

Come on guys, jeeeeeeeeez.

Steve just clarified a mistake in the previous post. .5moa is .5 moa no matter what the range. The previous post stated it would be 2.5moa at 500 yards if it was .5moa at 100. This is simply not true.

Back on topic...

I like the 117gr Hornady BTSP for deer, and it is quite accurate. However, I like the 115 gr BTSP from Sierra better in front of 51.5 gr H4831, 0.005 off the lands with FGM primers, RP case, Hart #5.5 1-10 twist accurazed Rem 700. see picts below (btw, the stock is not crooked like it appears in the bottom picture. All the pictures were stitched together, and it did not line up very well)

I've not shot my 25 in quite some time but I'm itchin to get back at it. Especially since my .204 is sick, and on it's way to the doctor.

Just where the hell did I say that if he shot 0.5 MOA at 100 yards he would shoot 0.5 MOA at 500 yards?

I stated what the equivalent of the MOA is at various yardage!!

If you can't read, maybe you shouldn't be typing...

Do you enjoy getting hot for nothing? All I did was agree with you that MOA was MOA whether at 100 or 500 yds. I also stated that just because a rifle could shoot a .5moa group at 100 yds didn't mean it could at 500yds. The only way to know for sure is to shoot at 500. Many make take that leap of faith and assume it will happen. No where did I say nor mean to imply you made that statement.
