Sierra .375 200gr?

I want to load up some LIGHT practice loads for the 375 H&H to be able to shoot a few hundred rounds while practicing quick-loading of the magazine, followup shots, etc.

Sierra lists a load for the 200 gr. FP that looks like it would do the job, but I can't find anyone who has these in stock - even the Sierra website.

Anybody know where I can buy some, or find a substitute? I would like to stay away from cast bullets fow now.

I found a thread for plinking loads, but they were all with cast bullets.

Rick,

I use the 220 Hormnady Flat Nose and 39 grains of our Australian AR 2205, which I am sure is H4227 Extreme.

Accuracy is under an inch from a match grade barrel with the bullet seated to the cannelure and Fed 210 primers. It does just over 2000 f/s.

Hornady also make a 225 grain Spire Point which designed for lighter game when used in the 375 Steyr.

I just ordered 100 of the Hornady's. It sounds like it will serve my purposes just fine.

I'll check my Hodgdon manual and see what they say about the 4227.

Of course, they won't compare it against non-US powders...

...Ummm... How *sure* are you that it's the same?

Would you recommend that load to your mum?

(I haven't posted anything that upset you in the past, have I?)

Yes I would recommend that load to my mum as pressure is mild and 2205 is a 4227 burning rate. But if IMR 4227 was used or if H4227 Extreme is not the Australian powder then accuracy might be different.

As far as I am aware all the Hodgdon Extreme powders and ShortCut powders are the Australian made powders. I think Hodgdon does list H4227 Extreme.

AR 2206 3031
AR 2207 4198 A silly numbering system.
AR 2208 Varget
AR 2209 H4350
AR 2213SC H4831SC
AR 2217 H1000
AR 2218 50 caliber powder.

Mike, do you mean that AR 2205 is equal to 4198 or 4227?

Sorry a misprint. AR 2205 equals 4227.

And 2207 being 4198 and 2206 being 3031 is nota misprint.

2206 is the powder used in the military 7.62s
