I installed a new Lyman 1200 Speed Upgrade kit today. It comes with a new powder box that is tapered on the bottom for faster removal of the powder and a larger diameter dispensing tube. It also comes with a new pan and a restrictor plug for the end of the dispensing tube.

Before I installed it I check the speed of the standard tube. I dumped 70gr of Hunter 3 times. Dump times were 45 sec, 45 sec and 46 sec. I installed the upgrade kit, 70gr of Hunter now takes 22 sec. Accuracy would fluctuate more than I like so I installed the restrictor plug. Accuracy is now dead nuts and 70gr of Hunter takes 25 sec.

I think I like it!

I've had mine for a week, it's a great improvement for $28, not just much faster, but much easier to empty too!! Midway has it in stock if you don't wanta wait for Midsouth to get it.

Simple, just unscrew the discharge tube, remove the powder box, slide in the new powder box and screw in the new discharge tube.
