icemanls2Favorite caliber to shoot regularly?
Just curious what caliber strikes your fancy to shoot regularly? For me it's .300 Win Mag as my #1 pet and .308 Win a close 2nd.

Mke / TxMore often than not, I am generally hauling around a Ruger Compact in .308 as well as a Redhawk in either 44 or 41mag.
We have property of our own as well as help care for some other properties, which both have a high probabilty of feral hogs being seen while out. These are simply the easiest I have to tote around in the truck or tractor and have plenty of horsepower to reach out and take care of the hogs at 400yds or closer.

phurley5Two Winchester Model 70 .270 WSM's are my present passion. Those suckers are awesome in speed and accuracy. I am also enjoying a 7mm BR in TC pistol with 2.5X8 Burris that is quite fun. Good shooting.

I highly dislike shooting my 308, it hurts. But its my deer rifle and the light weight of the gun pays off in spades on all day hikes through the mountains of WV.

JonLately, my .451 Gibbs long range muzzle loader. 100g Swiss 1 1/2fg black powder and 530g cast bullet. Accurate, and every shot I fire is a hand load!

Von GruffMy 7x57 gets more attention than the others in the safe. It goes to the range every time I go for a play, er, I mean to do research. Shoot a lot of cast in it while waiting for something else to cool. Main meat getter as well.

For punching paper at the range, I am the happiest with calibers that have the least recoil. I can practice my shooting form without any worry about developing a flinch. When it comes to shooting hair, I use enough gun for the critter.
