Africa in 03Crimping
In regards to crimping, should you crimp or not?
This is in regards to 308, 30-06, and 375 H&H.
Thanks

Africa in 03Does factory ammo come crimped?
Thanks

OddballI do not crimp for bolt action rifles. However, I am not shooting anything with heavy recoil. I do crimp for autoloaders, lever action tube magazine rifles and hand guns. Yes, factory ammo is crimped.

The MazCrimp for revolvers, anything with a tube magazine, autoloaders, and anything that has appreciable recoil and a magazine of any type. For auto pistols, taper crimp. Always crimp shotshells, as it really sucks to have the shot charge fall out when you tip it sideways

No need for light-recoiling rifles fed from a box mag (except autos), or single shots. Crimp may benefit consistancy slightly, but may also reduce brass life, so it's a trade-off.
