I tried the 165 Barnse on whitetails last year.
Took a heavy 7pointer, and a small doe. Bullets all exited even from quartering towards.
Accuracy in my '94 is marginal to terrible with 3" being the best I could do, 4 to 6" being normal.
Load I was using was 31 grains of rel 12.

I double checked those figures, they are from the Barnes #2 manual. Note that copper bullets develop more bbl pressure due to drag than regular jacketted bullets. Thus you may find heavier loads for the same bullet weight listed elsewhere. Those heavier loads may be too hot with the X point.

The listed max OAL for the 30-30 is 2.550.
The barnes X has a crimp groove, so this should be no problem if your cases are trimmed.
The trim to length is 2.028 to 2.039.
To be honest, I never checked the OAL myself, the bullets are tapered enough that chambering won't be a problem in a standard '94 Winchester. I just trimmed the cases, and used thier crimp groove.
