.300 Rem Ultra Mag Loads
Hi from Alaska. Just a quick question about your posted data. A 300 RUM pushing a 150 using REL 19 powder of 100 grains is supossed to me moving at 3874fps according to your data. Is this right?? Its about 400 fps faster than anybody else on earth as far as I can tell. I just ordered a new gun and am searching for good loads, This one is a monster. Can somebody verify this load? And who makes REL 19 powder "Accurate"?? or who? Ive always used IMR. Does anybody have IMR data for this rifle??

I shoot 99.0grs of Re-22 in my 338Ultra,with a 210XLC,at 3400fps.

100grs of 19,in the bigger case,with a lighter projectile,sounds plausible to me................

Quickload forecasts 86,000psi for 100 grains re 19 under a 150 bullet. The data on this caliber has been WILD. I've seen people post data on the 300 rum that runs right past 30-378 weatherby speeds. Saeed right here on this sight had a stock remington that did just that without signs of pressure.
I have a 30-378 that is right on the border of hard bolt lift with 150 barnes at 3700 fps. PLUS--some of the slow powders like re25 seem to be somewhat inconsistant with their energy levels. I'd say be carefull and treat every gun as an individual--AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE 300 RUM take this especially to heart and work up carefully.

RL powders are from Alliant (formally Hercules).

They are the same people who put uot Unique, Buulseye, Bluedot etc in pistol powders. www.alliantpowder.com

If you want to use RL19 start way below that charge. I had great luck with RL25 and IMR 7828
