What works ?

Just theorizing;
Blanks are made from really fast powder, so I would try some bullseye and a glued in paper neck "cover". Not a wad.
Safest would be black powder in any amount.
I blew up an M14 once with blank powder, (broke the bolt face in half) but that is another story....
