VFR1Norma bullets
I picked up a couple of boxes of Norma 9.3mm 286gr Oryx bullets. Does anyone have any experience hunting with these bullets? Will be used in my 9.3x64. Thanks

sakoIve not used them myself but my hunting buddys in Sweden love them!
Last year they killed two moose and 3 roes with Oryx in 6,5*55 and all where one shot kills @50-150 meters!

VFR1Thanks. I figured I would hear from one of our Finn, Swede, Norge or Icelandic members.

Charles_HelmExit wound 285 grain Norma Oryx, Norma factory load for 9.3x74R:
My only concern would be if they are tough enough to hold together at 9.3x64 velocities. Norma says it is bonded, so hopefully it will hang together just fine.
In my 9.3x62 I like the North Fork softs, but have only used them on game a couple of times (250 grains).
Good luck with your rifle.

sierra2No experience with the Norma Oryx in 9.3mm. We have only used Nosler Partitions and Swiss SDCs in 9.3x62 and 9.3x64, where both slugs performed perfectly.

astiI havent used them myself, but I´ve heard both good and bad about them. Some have had problems with separation, while others seem to think they hold together as good as other bonded bullets.
However, I`ve loaded up some ammo to try on moose this fall. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I wiil be able to give you the result of this.
The bullet is the Oryx 286 grs, and velocity is 700 m/s.
Oh, one good thing: theyre pretty cheap here in Sweden!
(compared to other premium bullets)
