Anyone use ramshot powder?
I was at Sportsmans Warehouse and they sell Ramshot powders cheap. I am thinking of trying them at least for loading for my mil surps. Their website shows TAC and Biggame for 8mm, .303, and 7.5x55. Looking for guys that are useing these powders and their comments.

I use Ramshot powders quit a bit. I like em, I like em a lot. BigGame in my 7mm-08, 9.3x62 and 30-06. Hunter in my 300WSMs, 30-06 and 7mm-08. X-Terminator in 7.62x39 and 221 Fireball. I get excellent accuracy and velocity with all of the Ramshot powders except Magnum. Tried it in my Swede and was not impressed.

Steve would you recomend TAC or big game for the calibers I mentioned? I tend to like slower powders so I am leaning toward big game.

Nothing wrong with Ramshot powder
I sold 16 pounds dirt cheap a few months ago as I just have way too many powders on hand and couldn't find a reason to keep it.

IMO we have more powders available to pick from than are practical and Ramshot is sucking the hind one for no reason than it's fairly new.....been around about 7 years or so.

I also like slower powders that fill the case more. IMHO BigGame would be a good place to start.

I used Hunter in my 300WSM and even tried it in my 7mmRem. I was pleased with it in my 300WSM, but no good in my 7mmRem. Ramshot makes some pretty good powders and they own AccurateArms Powder. The company headquarters is based out of Miles City, Montana.

The sad part was that Ramshot Hunter was never in stock when I used it.
