I worked quite a bit with a Marlin Model 1894 in .25-20 and settled on 9.5 grs. of IMR 4227 behind the Remington 86gr soft point factory bullet which is available as a component. Rem cases and Rem 6 1/2 primer. Crimp in cannelure.

This was the most accurate load for me and worked great on wild turkeys as well when I was in Texas for a time where you can use a rifle. Too bad you can't here..... It's more sporting and more fun.

I have the same rifle and shoot 60 grain Hornady jacketed flatpoints over 11.7 grains of IMR 4198. This is a very accurate load.
